“STARTUP DAY” sets the stage for future entrepreneurs

October 21: Start Up Day 2016 culminated into a grand success here today at the HP Campus of Chitkara University. With over a hundred students of our college participating in this “Business Idea Challenge”, the event surpassed all limits of grandeur. Aimed at promoting young entrepreneurs, Start Up Day is a brainchild of Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED).
To give you a quick recap, 20 Teams participated this year in Start Up Day and out of them 10 Teams were shortlisted for today’s Grand Finale. Each team gave a 3-minute presentation on their idea, which was followed by further questions from the jury to test their research and preparation. Everyone was amazed to see the level of dedication that students displayed while presenting their unique ideas. The event was graced by the presence of our Vice Chancellor Dr Madhu Chitkara, and our panel of jury comprised of distinguished entrepreneurs. We’d like to thank our jury once again for sparing their valuable time.

2nd Prize: Rs. 30,000/- and 6 months working space
Team: Change Sphere
Concept: Smart Inverters
3rd Prize: Rs. 20,000/- and 6 months working space
Team: Let’s Change The World
Concept: Anti-collision, ultrasonic sensors for railways
This is just the start of their journey into entrepreneurship. Hereafter, the winners of Start Up Day will exclusively be mentored and helped to kick start their concept in the market. Also, they will be given working space to fulfil their aspirations. We will keep you posted on further updates about these teams. With the run-away success of Start Up Day 2016, our students our filled with a double dose of vigour and enthusiasm, so we are looking forward to more participation in the next round of events!
